MASSACHUSETTS DOPING LAW BOSTON Mass May 21 A 5000 fine and a year in prison is the maximum pen ¬ alty for doping a race horse in Massa ¬ chusetts under the provisions of a new law which was signed late yesterday by Governor Charles F Hurley The law pro ¬ vides that the penalty is effective only when the guilty person administers it for the purpose of affecting the speed of the horse in a race upon which the public has put up its money under the parimutiiel system of betting
