MRS MAE MCDOWELL RETURNS HERE IMPROVED IN HEALTH HEALTHMrs Mrs Mae McDowell widow of Matthew McDowell well known as a horseman and more recently as an auctioneer has returned here improved in health following a long stay in a Miami hospital It was during her confinement at the medical institution that her husband passed away on April 23 following a protracted illness illnessMrs Mrs McDowell now wishes to extend her thanks to the many owners trainers and other racing figures who visited her husband during the long hours of his hospitalization She states their kindness was doubly appre ¬ ciated in that she herself was unable to be with him at the time due to her own illness illnessInterment Interment of the late Mr McDowell took place CemeteryMcDowell in Miami Memorial Cemetery McDowell raced horses in California and over the midwestern tracks before he be ¬ came horse auctioneer at various tracks He conducted many sales at Arlington Park as well as at other Chicago courses In late year he had purchased horses for the Re ¬ mount Service of the United States govern ¬ ment
