PUBLIC INVITED TO VISIT OMAHA TRACK ON SUNDAY SUNDAYAkSarBen AkSarBen Officials Arrange Open House Gathering for Fans FansOMAHA OMAHA Neb May 23 AkSarBen race fans will be given a preview of the 1941 meeting Sunday when open house will bo held at the track in dvance of the thirty day season which has its inaugural here Tuesday TuesdayThe The public is invited by AkSarBen offi cials to visit the field and track on Omahas west side at that time Special events will be stagedxin the afternoon including exhi ¬ bition races and a demonstration of the lat ¬ est model Bahr electric starting gate which wiU be used for all 1941 races All stables will be open and visitors are welcome to inspect the finest field of starters in the history of the Omaha meeting on hand from the leading stables of this country and Cuba CubaOpening Opening the meeting Tuesday will be an eightrace program including the 1200 Ak SarBen Inaugural Handicap for threeyear olds and upward Thereafter racing will be held daily except Sundays and Mondays through Saturday July 5 for purses totaling nearly 150000 150000MANY MANY CHANGES TO PLANT PLANTVisitors Visitors Sunday and during the meeting will find many changes in the AkSarBen plant since a year ago all designed to add to their convenience W H Schellberg racing chairman said today todayThese These include almost twice the paved parking area of a year ago enlarging of the mutuel rooms and rearrangement of stair ¬ ways and concessions in the grandstand The threequarter chute has been straight ened and 100 new stalls constructed to house the overflow of horses that has all but swamped track superintendent Jim Ronin RoninRains Rains of the last few days have fresh ¬ ened flowers and other landscaping about the track and grounds presenting an espe cially beautiful scene for Sunday visitors Schellberg said saidMeanwhile Meanwhile registration of arrivals con ¬ tinues at full speed Practically all officials who will preside at the 1941 meeting are now at the track making lastminute prep arations for opening day
