LANTZFRIBLEY BILL SIGNED BY GOVERNOR DWIGHT GREEN GREENLaw Law May Produce an Additional 1000000 in Revenue to State StateCRETE CRETE 111 May 29 Collection of a state levy on paiimutuel betting at race courses as provided for under the LantzFribley Bill which Gov Dwigh Green signed at Spring ¬ field late yesterday started today at Lin ¬ coln Fields FieldsThe The bill places a 2 per cent state tax on all money wagered on horse races in the state and is expected to produce an esti ¬ mated 1000000 adclilional revenue annu ¬ ally Under the measure a deduction of 10 per cent will be made at all tracks except Fairmount Park near East St Louis which is permitted to deduct 11 per cent from the mutuel play Fairmount Park will retain 9 of the 11 pdr cent it will deduct while other tracks will receive 8 of tie 10 per cent takeout takeoutAll All tracks will continue to pay a daily license fee the Chicago courses paying 2500 each day on which races are held Aurora 1500 and Fairmount Park 500 The measure also provides for a revised scale of minimum purses pursesUnder Under the LantzFribley statute the pres ¬ ent racing commission is abolished and a new threemember board must be appointed by Governor Green within the next fifteen days Members of the new commission will receive no remuneration for their services but are permitted expense accounts Terms of the commissioners will be staggered one terminating July 1 1913 the second in 1945 and the third in 1947 Governor Green has not indicated whom he might name to the board
