LOCAL RACEGOERS WILL SEE WHIRLAWAY AT ARLINGTON ARLINGTONCalumet Calumet Has Requested Forty Stalls for Coming Session SessionThe The announcement by trainer Ben Jones of his summer plans for Warren Wrights Calumet Farm horses indicates that Chi ¬ cago will see the great Whirlaway in action during the Arlington Park meeting meetingJones Jones definitely announced from Belmbnt Park that Whirlaway and his stablemates would go to Aqueduct following the sensa ¬ tional threeyearolds appearance in the Belmont Stakes on June 7 and then would come to the North Side track for the meet ¬ ing which opens June 23 There is a weeks conflict in the Aqueduct and Arlington Park meetings the former closing July 2 Jones declared that he did not intend to withhold Whirlaway for only the major stakes but intended to run the Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner in as many races as his schedule would permit The main objective of Whirlaway is the Arlington Classic on July 26 but racing secretary Robert S Shel ¬ ley will have a number of allowance races wherein Jones will be able to start his star threeyearold against horses of his own age if he so desires desiresThe The Calumet Farm trainer in talking with general manager John D Jackson said that he would require forty stalls for the Wright horses and requested the barns he used last season seasonIn In discussing his plans for the balance of the season Jones said he would not break up the Wright stable into two divisions but that the entire string would appear at Arlington Park ParkBesides Besides Whirlaway the Calumet horses include Proud One winner of the Acorn Blenweed Easy Mon Bay Carse and the twoyearolds Some Chance Col Teddy and Sun Again the latter the recent winner of the Belmont Juvenile Stakes
