on the card cardBoth Both races were closely contested but it was the Blue Island Purse which brought the crowd to its feet as War Minstrel and Equifox fought it out head and head for the final halfmile of this event Both riders put their mounts under a hard drive down the long stretch of this course but it was Equifox who managed to get up to earn the neck advantage he had as they reached the final marker in 138 138The The bay son of Equipoise Catherine Fox was accounting for his second victory at the meeting having won another mile event here on May 21 and was making his third start party Borton sent his mount into the lead rounding the final turn into the stretch Between that point and the final marker he was able to build up the onelength margin that filly had as he crossed the final marker iii advance of Mid kiff Wells Flying Jane Cherriko re ¬ ceived fair backing as she accomplished her third victory of the year and paid 1080 The Balko filly was timed in 114 114S S I Crews O Play earned brackets for the first time this year at the end of the six furlongs of the fourth a claiming affair fashioned for older horses of the 1500 to 2OQO bracket which was known as the Wacker Drive Purse Steve Brooks sent the winning daughter of Okapi up to take over the lead from Jayfcee around the bend for home under pressure but he drew away from his opposition so rapidly that when he
