SOCIETY TO BE REPRESENTED IN DINNER PURSE AT DETROIT DETROITWednesdays Wednesdays Sporting Event May Attract Twelve or More Entries EntriesDETROIT DETROIT Mich June 23 At least twelve and probably a greater number of prominent Detroit sportsmen and sportswomen will be represented by horses in the first running of the Dinner Purse at the Fair Grounds on Wednesday The event is being sponsored by the Turf and Paddock Club ClubThe The winning owner of this race will be the guest of honor to the losing subscribers and their parties at a dinner on the club ¬ house terrace on the evening the event has its decision decisionThe The upper terrace has been reserved for the day by the Turf and Paddock Club The dash has been written in the best traditions of like races run annually at Hialeah Park and Keeneland Entry to the race is by invitation only and subscribers may race their own colors over twoyearolds owned by themselves or leased for the occasion according to the conditions laid down by the invitation committee which is headed by Charles A Bray Michigan state steward The dinner purse will be run over the fivefurlong distance distanceAmong Among those who have subscribed to the race to date are Mrs Frank J Navin Miss Mary V Fisher Miss Lydia M Nuhl Mrs Charles D Pierce Miss Laura M Briggs Miss Anastasia Buhl Mrs W D McCullough James B Johnson Jr Miss Julia Hudson Mrs George Endicott LouisL Bredin and Frank Schwell SchwellA A silver trophy will be presented to the winning owner and smaller replicas to the less fortunate subscribers
