SIX TURFIVIEN ARE HEROES IN BOSTON AUTO CRASH CRASHBOSTON BOSTON Mass June 26 Six race trackers were heroes of Wednesdays turn ¬ pike crash near Newbury Returning from an allday fishing trip were trainers Har ¬ old Young J E Miller Lyle Dilger Pete Valenti Jesse Burks and jockey Karl Craig when a car in front of them crashed into the rear of a truck swerved off the high ¬ way and overturned in deep water near the side of the road roadYoung Young Miller and Dilger immediately dived into the water fully clothed and after uprighting the car hauled the five young women in the car to safety as Valenti Burks and apprentice Craig acted as a chain line to the shore The assistance of another passing driver George Campbell was also invaluable according to the horsemen The women had remained submerged for nearly a minute in the fivefoot depth be ¬ fore the trainers could reach them All are recovering from their narrow escape
