Banners Engage Dr Upton UptonFORT FORT WORTH Texas May 19 Before departing for Detroit where Mrs Bonners greatly augmented stable will be campaigned this sum ¬ mer under the direction of Norman Butsy Hernandez II Paul Bonner announced that Dr J R Upton vet ¬ erinarian and trainer has been en ¬ gaged under a longterm contract to assist trainer Hernandez He will have complete charge of the Bonner thoroughbreds health Dr Upton joined Hernandez in Detroit Ours is a bigtime stable now there being more than 50 thoroughbreds in training so we decided to engage Dr Upton to attend to the veterinary needs of our horses and we have also engaged watchmen and other aids commented Bonner When our stable is resting Dr Upton will visit our farm at Hurst and set the breeding schedule Mrs Bonner will again enlarge the scope of her breed ¬ ing activities next year and there will be a number of good mares re ¬ tired for breeding The Bonners who maintain a home in Canada during the summer will commute to Detroit during the long meeting
