Numerous Changes Made At Washington Park ParkArlingtons Arlingtons Post and Paddock Will Have Place at Homewood HomewoodHOMEWOOD HOMEWOOD 111 May 24 Numerous changes have been made at Washington Park where the Arlington Park Jockey Club also will stage its meeting this year thereby giving the South Side course 67 consecutive days of racing racingAlready Already announced is Jthe sevenman board of stewards and that five members of that august body would view the sport from different points around the track This decision on the part of Benjamin j Lindheimer executive director of the two organizations leaves only two stewards at the line of finish finishFor For years the Post and Paddock Club at Arlington Park composed of leaders of Chi ¬ cagos social life and their friends has compared with the swank Turf and Field Club at Belmont Park With no racing at the North Side track this year director Lindheimer decided to make a place for the Post and Paddock at Washington Park ParkClubrooms Clubrooms will be provided on the north side of the cluubhouse heretofore the meet ¬ ing place for executives of the track and members of the board of directors The old stewards stand has been razed and that plot of ground separating the clubhouse and grandstand will be a lawn for the Post and Paddock membership membershipA A small stewards stand on the line of finish has been added The structure will be just large enough to accommodate Wil ¬ liam Hamilton steward representing the Illinois Racing Board and an alternating track steward stewardA A radio telephone circuit connecting the different stewards stands and also the track main switchboard has been installed and a stewards room at the southeast side of the grandstand established establishedIn In addition to these improvements the administration building has been revamped New walks have been laid and the track proper is undergoing a soil treatment All of the barns have been reconditioned and many of them now are occupied by thor ¬ oughbreds racing at the Lincoln Fields meeting or awaiting the Washington Park
