front approaching the final eighth then drew clear but kept under urging to the end had little left GRAY ETHEL a strong factor from the start and in hand for half a mile got to the front in the stretch stumbled while being engaged by the winner but was quick to recover and held FISHERS PET safe The latter away slowly and raced wide stumbled soon after reaching the final quarter and closing well following a slow recovery was getting to the leaders BRIGHT NOVET taken back early was racing well when blocked and impeded in the stretch and had little chance thereafter ATHENS MAID showed
