Hagerstown July 617 Meeting Sanctioned by Maryland Solons SolonsHAGERSTOWN HAGERSTOWN Md June 7 With sanction by the Maryland Racing Commis ¬ sion of a July 617 meeting at the nearby Hagerstown Fair Grounds preparations for that 10day meeting are under way Ac ¬ cording to Harold F Bester general man ¬ ager of the plant purses will approximate last years distribution distributionThe The commission only recently approved the dates for the halfmile track that an ¬ nually begins Marylands halfmile season It is doubtful however whether there will be much more halfmile racing this sum ¬ mer Cumberland and Marlboro the only remaining smaller plants given any sort of consideration following announcement by the management of Bel Air that it would not run are doubtful Both tracks are dis ¬ tant from metropolitan areas Consequent ¬ ly with the present pleasure driving ban in force it is unlikely that either one will operate this year Timonium the other member of this states smaller circuit is being utilized by the U S Army
