1 Open Lincoln Fields Track April 15 to Care for Overflow As work on the racing strip and within the stable area at Washington Park has 5 i j not been completed, the Homewood course j j will not be available for the housing and training of horses for the several early arriving establishments unable to obtain 1 quarters at either Hawthorne or Sports-s [ mans Park. As these stables will arrive 1 s here next month and some of their horses 5 i will participate in races at Sportsmans I 3 Park and also events during the Lincoln 1 ; Fields meeting to be staged at Hawthorne, , j , I the course of the Lincoln Fields Jockey j . ! Club near Crete will be opened to take ? . j care of the overflow from the two West ■ j Side tracks. Announcement to this effect * was made by Thomas Young, superintendent at Lincoln Fields and Churchill Downs, . s He plans to open the Crete barns and j , track on April 15, but only those stables 3 I approved by Young will be permitted to use the Will County course.
