Valley Flares to Churchill SAN MATEO, Calif., April 8— B. R. Pa ton has completed arrangements for shipment of his three-year-old Valley Flares, a nominee for the Kentucky Derby, to Louisville, Ky.. next Monday. Valley Flares, a Cali- , fornia-bred son of Flares — Sceptical, won a race here the first week of the Bay Meadows meeting, but met defeat in two subsequent engagements. Paton is not yet convinced that he has a Derby colt, but he , wants to get Valley Flares to the scene of that May 6 Churchill Downs classic so that if he does show enough in the meantime he will be on hand. With Valley Flares when he goes to Kentucky will be his two-year-old stablemates Bonalita and Sara- dinee. i
