Three Cars of Horses Check In at Suffolk SuffolkCome Come From Kentucky With Chinn Stables Fifteen Topping Group GroupBOSTON BOSTON Mass May 10 Three car ¬ loads of horses pulled into the Suffolk Downs siding this morning awaiting next Mondays inaugural of the 60day summer season which runs here through July 22 All cars came from Kentucky with mixed stables although Col Phil Chinn unloaded the most horses when 15 thoroughbreds were bedded down downActivity Activity at Suffolk Downs is increasing daily as the opening comes ever closer Nominations are already being taken for the East Boston Handicap at one mile which will feature Mondays inaugural pro ¬ gram Entries for this eightfurlong test close on Friday night with declarations by 10 oclock Saturday morning In addi ¬ tion to some of the better routers now in New England other topnotchers from Maryland and New York are also being pointed for the 2500 headliner and race secretary Charles McLennan predicts a large field will parade postward postwardNominations Nominations also close on Saturday for the 5000 added Commonwealth Handicap at six furlongs This sprint is restricted to threeyearolds and will be one of the first preps for the youngsters for the rich 25000 Yankee Handicap to be decided here later in the season New England is playing host this year to some of the best threeyear olds and the Commonwealth looms a ster ¬ ling contest from wire to wire wireMany Many stables are already beginning the trek from nearby Narragansett Park to the seaside course the latest to get under way including three horses for Harry Barnett six for Lee Helton and nine head consigned to Monte Preston
