List Several New Officials For Charles Town Meeting CHARLES TOWN W Va May 10 When the Charles Town Jockey Club ushers in West Virginias 1944 racing sea ¬ son at 100 p ni Monday there will be several new officials on hand Among them will be Norris Roy den former turf column ¬ ist Royden will act as the WestVirginia Racing Commission steward an assign ¬ ment previously handled by T C Bradley The official family for the 48 days of racing which runs from May 15 to July 8 inclusive will consist of Norris Royden W B Watkins and Fred Burton as the ste ¬ wards E A Stone A R Winters and Ewart Johnston as the placing judges Freddie Burton as racing secretary and handicapper Greg Johnson as Burtons assistant and also entry clerk Lally Coll yer as timer and identifier Donald Hay as mutuel manager John Pons and John Shanks as patrol judges John Briscoe as track superintendent and Dr G P Mor ¬ rison as track physician Harold Holland formerly one of Johnnie Morrisseys as ¬ sistants will take over the job in the start ¬ ers stand this year due to Morrissey having been inducted into the armed forces
