Swope Makes Plans to Attend Hervey Testimonial Dinner DinnerHerbert Herbert Bayard Swope chairman of the New York State Racing Commission and of the Turf Committee of America in making reservations to attend the testi ¬ monial dinner in honor of John Hervey on July 6 at the Stevens Hotel informed Chairman Ted Williams of the Arrange ¬ ments Committee that nothing short of an impossibility will prevent him from attend ¬ ing Swope who also serves as consultant to the Secretary of War will be in Chi ¬ cago for the annual meeting of the Na ¬ tional Association of State Racing Com ¬ missioners opening July 3 and intends to remain over to join the countless others who will honor the noted turf scribe who is known far and wide under the pen name of Salvator SalvatorWilliams Williams also reports that General Man ¬ ager William P Kyne of the California Jockey Club Bay Meadows has made five reservations which he is sending on to Lincoln Plaut director of field opera ¬ tions for DAILY RACING FORM who will dis ¬ tribute them to horsemen now in the serv ¬ ice and who will be in Chicago on furlough at that time
