Mutual Tickets PreDating New Amendment Still Good GoodNEW NEW YORK N Y June 19 It was stated here by Herbert Bayard Swope chairman of the New York Racing Commis ¬ sion that he had just received an opinion from the attorney general as to the cashing of winning parimutuel tickets within 90 days from date of issue which for one rea ¬ son or another have not been presented for payment paymentThe The attorney general explained that under the present law passed on April 9 1944 mutuel tickets purchased since that date are void unless presented for payment within 90 days from the date of purchase but tickets previous to this amendment are still good the new amendment not being retroactive retroactiveThis This statement is for the benefit of such persons as may still have winning mutuel tickets carried over from previous years also to remind all purchasers that they must cash their winning tickets within 90 days The commission is not in sym ¬ pathy with the law but is called upon to enforce it
