Coaltown Works FiveEighths in 59 in Mud MudBELMONT BELMONT PARK Elmont L I N Y May 26 Calumet Farms brilliant Coaltown showed that he has lost none of his speed and will not be troubled by a muddy track in the Withers on Saturday when he steped five furlongs in 59 over the main track at Belmont Park this morning The son of Bull Lea who merely galloped in the Swift Stakes last week and finished second to his stablemate Citation in the Kentucky Derby for his only defeat was caught in 22 34 and 46 for the fractions fractionsCoaltown Coaltown will probably be opposed by Greentree Stables Kilroy C V Whit ¬ neys Vulcans Forge King Ranchs Better Self W L Branns Escadru Mrs Rea Warners King Rhymer Alfred G Vanderbilts Newsweekly and Loser Weeper and possibly Glen Riddle Farms Faraway The latter was to have been shipped to Delaware Park to race in the Brandywine Handicap next Monday but worked a clever mile in 143 this morning The War Relic colt was an impressive winner here last week weekLoser Loser Weeper showed unsuspected speed when going a mile in 139 in handy style over the muddy track this morning and may have earned a chance to go poslward in the rich stake His fractions were 47 and 112
