TRA Aide at Portland Assisting Horsemen HorsemenCoffey Coffey Reports No Horsemen or Horses Injured in Flood Disaster DisasterHOLLYWOOD HOLLYWOOD PARK Inglewood Calif June 7 Immediate aid to horsemen in distress due to the flood disaster at Port ¬ land and vicinity is being furnished by member tracks of the Thoroughbred Rac ¬ ing Associations of the United States through Edmund Coffey their representa ¬ tive at the scene of the flood it was an ¬ nounced by J F Mackenzie vicepresident and general manager of Hollywood Park ParkCoffey Coffey assistant to Spencer J Drayton executive director of the TRA has been with horsemen affected by the disaster since Thursday investigating their needs and making cash available immediately to those in distress distressBoth Both Coffey and Drayton were in touch with Mackenzie by telephone today report ¬ ing on the TRAs work on the grounds Coffey stated that while flood conditions are disastrous no horsemen or horses have been injured Most horsemen received warning in time to avoid danger and every one has food and clothing he said saidCoffey Coffey is working in close cooperation with the Oregon State Racing Commission and he will stay in the vicinity of Portland until each case of need among horsemen is taken care of he reported reportedThe The TRA is advancing cash to be used for immediate neds Later after the emer ¬ gency has been met funds will be col ¬ lected by the TRA from its member tracks on a prorata basis Portland Meadows the track inundated by the flood is not a member of the TRA
