GOSSIP OF THE TURF. A revision of the candidates and weights for the Suburban Handicap shows that of the original nominations Sombrero, Renald, Good Morning n., Cunard, De Sanet, Cor-rigan, Dixieline, Roehampton, Bessie Spahr, Marque, Grey Friar, Huntressa, Linguist, Lendin, Great American and Sir Faust have been withdrawn. W. C. Whitneys Gunfire, because of her victory in the Metropolitan Handicap, will take up a twelve-pound penalty, making her impost 123 pounds. Whit-; ney and Duryeas Irish, Lad Incurs a penalty of twelve pounds for his Brooklyn Handicap success, and will shoulder 117 pounds. For his triumph in the Belmont Stakes Africander is penalized twelve pounds, and will pack 110. Articulate will take up four pounds, which increases his weight to 118, while Ord-nung will handle a similar penalty, making his burden 112. The Suburban will be nm at Sheepshead Bay on June 18. Holstein, which once occupied a stall la the Whitney stable and was deemed good enough to send to England to race, arrived at Gravesend recently in charge of Boston Jack McDonald. The horse has been put in . training again and will probably start at the present meeting.
