Ida Reek broke slowly, was outrun for the first half, but came with a great burst of sneed through the homestretch and just managed to get up in time to beat Paul Clifford In the final stride The latter set a very fast pace and raced Anna Smith into defeat in the early stages. Anna Smith was a game con-lender to the sixteenth post, but tired under punishment. Wabash Queen finished fast. Ilawkama was peedy, hut tired as if short. The winner was entered for 00; no bid. Ruths Rattler closed up witli a rush after taking the ninth jump, hut tired in the last quarter. Russell A. fell at the last jump and Sweet Jane unseated her rider after taking the tenth. Plantagenet was pulled un in the last turn of the field. Tom Doinn was sharply cut off by Temiueraire on the first turn and was rated close up until rounding the far tuin, where be moved up with a rush, took command after entering the homestretch and drew away to win easing up. Sir Ralph, outrun in the early stages, made a determined effort after entering the home-sketch, but could never get to the winner. Betsy Binford ran well and was hard ridden all of the last quarter. Anna May showed the most early speed, but tired in the last furlong and was driving hard to stall off Bonnie Regs rush. The latter was far back in the early stages, but saved ground on the far turn and when entering the homestretch, finished very gamelv under the whip and would have been second in a few more strides.
