MORE GOOD RACING IS IN PROSPECT. Eight Stakes are to Be Decided During the Second Week at Saratoga. Tomorrow is the lirst day of the second week of the Saratoga meeting. The Catskill Stakes, a selling dash of seven-eighths of a mile for three-year-olds and over, is the ehief feature of the day and the names of the probable starters are published elsewhere in this edition. The stake race to be decided Tuesday afternoon is the Delaware Handicap, a dash of a mile for three-year-olds and over and with Charles Edward, Dr. Gardner, Martin Doyle, McCarter, Running Water, Electioneer, Sewell, Kennyetto. Jack Atkiu, Coltontown, Suffrage, Philander, Zambesi, Red Leaf, Tourenne, W. II. Daniel, Missouri Lad, Ben Ban, Grapple, Botanist. Confederate, Dashaway, Inquisitor, Cairngorm, Killaloe and other fast ones in, it is apparent that there is sullicient speed engaged to insure a fast run mile, possibly a new record. The 0,000 Grand Union Hotel Stakes lor two-year-olds, will be run Wednesday. The distance is three-quarters of a mile. Chapultepee, Fair Play, Jiin GaUney, Smoker, Golden Pearl, Colin, Sir Cleges, Onatassa, Ben Fleet, Stamina, Burgher, Beaucoup and Seymour Beutler are. among the forty-seven eligibles and a good race is in prospect. The Huron Handicap at a mile and three-sixteenths for three-year-olds, is down for decision Thursday. Such cracks as Charles Edward, Montgomery, Jack Atkiu, Kennyetto, Vails, Electioneer, Killaloe, Mon-fort, Ethon, Fountainblue, W. II. Daniel, Kentucky Beau, Temacco, Zal, Superman, Philander, Zambesi, Tourenne, McCarter, J. C. Core, Oran, Dash-away, Ethon, Okenltc and Conville are nominated and if Mr. Vosburgh is lucky in satisfying owners with his assignment of weights, a high class contest may result. The Troy Slakes, a selling affair for two-year-olds at live and a half furlongs will he run Friday, with such good ones as Pair Play, Black Mary, Klin, ONeill, Magazine, Royal Vane, Master Robert, Apple Toddy, Raconteur, Frizette, Bellwether, Ban-yah. Sanguine, Beaucoup, E. M. Fry, Biskra, Rock-ledge, Scallop and Laura Clay likely to figure in the field. Three stakes will be run off Saturday afternoon, the Shillelah Steeplechase, Hopeful Stakes for two-year-olds mid the 0,000 Great Republic Stakes for three-year-olds and over, forming a program of great interest and importance. El Cnchillo, Good and Plenty, Ben Shaw, Thistledale, Commodore Fontaine, Phil May! Alfar, Kernel, St. Volma, Ilylas. Pagan Bey, Sheriff Williams, Coligny and Palm are among the tried jumpers in the Shillelah. From forfeits and added money the Hopeful now has a value of 0,910 and if ten youngsters ,go to the post this goodly sum will be increased to the extent of ,500. it costing 50 to start. There are sixty-one eligibles of which Fair Play, Half Sovereign. Chapultepee, Julia Powel, Masque, Mee-llck, Lady Winifred, King James, Stamina, Beau-coup, Colin, Fort Johnson and Fond Heart have shown best in public. Declarations have cut the Great Republic down to nineteen eligibles, but among these are Peter Pan, Charles Edward, Ballot, Tangle, Paunioiiok, Faust, Don. Enrique, The Quail, Joseph Brant and Sea "Wolf. So a good race is almost certain to mark its decision.
