SOME NEW TRACKS FOR CALIFORNIA. George Rose Here for a Conference with President Tom Williams. George Itose, big bookmaker, stockholder in Ascot Park and Interested in the establishment of a new track in the vicinity of Los Angeles to take the place of Ascot I ark next winter, is in the city. Various and varying reports as to the locality and "ownership -of the projected new track have been life of late. Yesterday he said: "I hare nothing of value to say about the matter today. I expect to meet Mr. T. H. Williams, president of the California Jockey Club, and some other .gentlemen tomorrow and after conferring with them will probably be able to furnish some definite information." As an example of the kind of stuff that is current concerning the enterprise a New York dispatch of last night to Daily Kacing Form said: Tiu World publishes an exclusive story this morning to the effect that George Itose, Barney Schreiber, Tom Williams ami Curley Drown, the promoter, and representing "Dig" T. D. Sullivan, will meet in conference at Chicago tonight regarding the establishment of a new race course at Venice near Los Angeles." Of course there is no more to this story than that Hose is now in Chicago and Mr. Williams is on his way east, and is to lie here today. Darney Schreibcr and Drown are in California and likely to remain there. The Drown scheme, in which he is seeking to interest Tim Sullivan, Is far from a certainty at this time.
