Start good. Won driving; second and third the same. Line of Life, after being in close quarters, got through luckily when turning for home and, in a hard drive, outstayed Pepper and Salt. The latter made up ground gradually from a slow start and finished fast and gamely under the whip. Don Hart closed a big gap early, but was rushed too fast and tired into a distant third in. the final sixteenth. Grandita was always outrun. Lady Chiswell was knocked to the rear in the middle running and made up much ground afterwards, but had no chance. Ten Row finished fast. Sun Mark, Toller and Myrtle II. showed speed, but all quit badly. The winner was entered for 00; no bid. Scratched 72391 Mary -Glenn, 109; 72410 Chestnut, 112. Rosegal forced a sharp pace for the first half and dashed into an easy lead midway of the stretch, then swerved in the closing strides, but was clear at the time. May Sutton ran a good race and, in a long sstiotch drive, finished gamely. Godfather closed a gap and outstayed. Inspector Bird in a sharp last sixteenth struggle. The latter showed the most early speed, but failed to stay the route. Charlie Doherty ran fairly well. Rastus showed early speed and may improve. The others were always outpaced. Hallie Sherman, after a rough journey, made up ground fast in the final quarter -and finished fast under urging. Alma Boy closed a gap and stood the last sixteenth drive with rare gameness. Bellmence showed speed, but tired when the pinch came. Meddling Daisy finished with a rush. Dulcinea set a fast pace to the stretch and tired. Acrobat dashed at once into an easy lead and, displaying great speed throughout, won all the way with something to spare. Colonel Jack ran a good race and, in a long stretch drive, finished resolutely and was much the best of the others today. Marster ran well, but fell away gradually in the final sixteenth. Nellita was always prominent and responded gamely to punishment all through the final quarter. Bonton finished fast. Burnell and Max Nal showed speed, but tired in the stretch. Giovanni Balerio set the pace fast for the first five furlongs, but tired and failed to stay. Chippewa made up ground gradually throughout and finished resolutely under the whip. Fustian ran well, hut tired in the stretch drive and will do better. Mamie Algol ran in improving form mid bears watching. Sentado showed speed. The winner was entered for 00; no bid.
