PLENTY OF TIME TO ASK FOR LICENSE. • New York. January 17. — The license committee of the Jockey Club will not hold a meeting until I the latter part of next ruonih, for the reason that a large number of the jockeys and trainers before that time have not made tip their minds whether to 1 choose the eastern tracks or remain in the middle west. The meeting at the time proposed will give ample time for them to determine whether to make ■ application or not and early enough to issue licenses 1 to ride or train at the Penning meeting, which is i the first under the jurisdiction of the Jockey Club.
