Tonic, from a slow start, made up much griHind in the last half. Altair was prominent to the half and tired. Sophomore is best in mud and ran a bad race. Azusa is a speedy non-stayer. The latter outbroke tie otl.ers and was reserved in close pursuit of the early leader, drew out at the half, but went wide 011 the stretch turn and succumbed finally. Bannock Bob made the running for half the journey and quickly gave way to the leaders, but easily saved third place and is improving. Dredger, away poorly and bumped on the first turn, was always outpaced by the first three and ran a poor race.
