STANLEY FAYS GOOD RACE AT SEATTLE Seattle Wash July 11 The racing at The Meadows today was the most brilliant of the season stirring finishes and fast time featuring the de ¬ cision of the card William Walkers crack filly Centre Shot made a new track record for five and a half furlongs by running the distance In 105 In winning the Kent Handicap and Phlllistlna made a track record for a half mile in winning the race for twoyearolds twoyearoldsStanley Stanley Fay William Walkers Derby candidate scored a wellearned victory in the Tacoma Handi ¬ cap the stake feature of the program and worth 1475 to the winner Stanley Fay liad to be much the best to win this race for ihe got off so poorly that he was shuflled back in the scramble for posi ¬ tion In going around the first turn and It was not until Ihe field was straightened away In the back stretch that he got well into his stride and began to move up on the Inside Getting through next to the rail on the last turn he wrested the lead from the Dying Luretta in the stretch and won In a terrific drive with Fantastic which came with a sen ¬ sational rush in the final quarter The time 13SJ was within a quarter of a second of the track recj ord made by The Huguenot several seasons ago when the course was in faster condition than at present Behind Stanley Fay unplaced were Early Tide and Boggs two of his prospective opponents for Derby honors to froth of which he was concedlii weight His performance of today coupled with his victory of a few days ago In fast time will have the effect of making him a strong favorite for tho Derby DerbyThere There were several additions to the bookmakers ranks today and speculation was lively Three favorites won The judges have restored Jockeys W Kelly and Gargan to good standing These boys have been under suspension for rough riding
