TUBE THROATED PROSPECTOR WINS WELL P R Brownings Pioneer Kendall Belle colt Prospeclor the English threeyearold which was at one time last winter second choice for the Epsom Derby has been lubed for thick wind The prae ticfr of putting silver pipes in horses throats is common In England through the climate of which many great horses become noisy out of throat and upper lung troubles August lit at Kcinntoii Park Prospector took up 130 pounds and at 10 to 1 In the betting easily won the Princess Handicap from thirteen horses giving NIobo which linlshed second to him no less than thirtynine pounds In 1907 Prospector as a twoyearold only started four times won the Hurstbourne Stakes at Salisbury the Coventry Stakes at Ascot and the Surrey Stakes at Hurst Park His only defeat was by Olympus in the Kennel Stakes at Newbun in which he gave the winner fifteen pounds
