JOHN LOUIS, after racing well up from the beginning, moved into the lead at the head of the stretch, but tired in the final drive and just lasted long enough to win. SHAAVNEE began slowly, but losed a gap and, finishing gamely under punishment, would have won in a few more strides. FRIEZE closed a "big gap into a close up third. GREAT JUBILEE raced well throughout. FOXY MARY was bumped back on the last turn when racing well and could not recover the lost ground. The latter ni a good race and only succumbed in the last two strides. GEORGE was in several pockets and finished fast when he secured an opening. TRANSACT made up ground from a slow beginning. TAIIOE finished well. LITTLE MARCIIMOXT and LORD ELAM quit badly. Overweights Taboo, 4 pounds.
