DEAD HEATS FEW AND FAR BETWEEN DURING 1916 The record of dead heats in 1910 is scanty, only two occurring, one at Juarez and one at Churchill Downs. One would have to go back to 1910 to match this. In the intervening years there were six dead heats in 1915, six in 1914. four in 1913, five in 1912 and six in 1911. The dates of the two dead heats of 1910, with the horses and riders in the cases, were as follows: Date. Track. Horse. Jockey. Horse. Jockey. Feb. 23 Juarez Lola x. Pickens Billy Culbertson It. Williams Sept. 30 Churchill Downs ...Typhoon W. Heag Bayberry Candle M. Buxton
