February 27. — Emil Herz. owner of Short Crass, arrived here this morning from Ne« York, to make contracts for breeding of that Ctalliea to a number of mires and to eee ins bones in training at Loiii-viilo. He journ vod ot to Louisville this afternoon, but will return to Lexington to spend Thursday. Friday and Saturday. While here he let it be known that he is in the market for several good broodmares, suitable to mate with Short Grass.
