WANT STEEPLECHASE RACES AT BOWIE. An effort is to be made to induce tlie management at Howie to include steeplechases in the program for the fall meeting. The field is fairly level, but the soil is not of the best, und if the suggestion is to be accepted, work will be needed immediately after the meeting now under way closes, as it will lie considerable of a task to fill and roll at some points. Richard Pending, who is superintendent of the place, is an old-time steeplechase rider, and is • ertiiin to provide what is wanted, if instructed to provide a course.
