The latter gained steadily, but swerved out in the last quarter. ARMISTICE began slowly, but finished fast and resolutely. IRA WILSON and GLORIA FRANCE tired in the stretch. The latter, under a hard pull nearly throughout, linished fast and would have won in another stride. REDDEST, while under stout restraint, outjaumpod the others at the fences, but was brought wide on the last turn and ridden weakly when it came to a hard drive. AYon easily; second and third driving. CLEOPATRA was saved under slight restraint in the early running, then wore the leaders down at her riders leisure in the stretch and won easing up. UPSET was a forward contender all the way and made a game effort at the eighth post, but could not get up to the leader. DR. CLARK was much used in racing CAPTAIN ALCOCK into defeat in the first half and tired, but held on gamely and outstayed DAATID HARUM in the linal drive. The latter displayed early speed, but linished tiring badly. CAPTAIN ALCOCK set a fast pace, but failed to stay the route. Scratched 13559 Gloria France, 107; 43059Royal Duck, 110. OYER THERE was saved under steady restraint in the early running and moved up rapidly while rounding the far turn on the outside of the leaders, but, cutting . across in front of DUNBOYNE and THUNDERSTORM, interfered witli them, then drew away into an easy lead in the stretcli and was a i-antering first. A claim of foul was allowed. VEXATIOUS saved ground on the turns and made a game effort after entering the homestretch, but could never overtake the leader. DUNBOYNE, hard held for the first mile, tired when called on for a final effort. MARY BELLE set a good pace to the far turn and, after being passed, came wide on the stretcli turn and, slowly wearing FRANK AYATERS down, drew clear in the last eighth, and withstood VICTORS challenge. The latter raced on the outside of the leaders all the way and came wide into the stretch, but finished fast and was gaining at the end. GRAPHIC moved up fast in the stretch and was compelled to he pulled up bv PICTOR. but came again and was going fastest of the leaders at the end. DR. RAE raced wide all the wav. STEPSON ran well for a half mile. AVAR NOTE finished gamely. FARMINGDALE was not persevered with when beaten.
