Sound geldings of merit improve and grow more reliable with age. Last fear Exterminator was mighty indeed. It was he. and not Sir Barton as Sir Barton was in the autumn. which should have contended against Man o War in the 5,000 Canadian race. It is expert opinion that at one and one-half miles, weight for age. Exterminator would have forced the champion to another supreme performance. lie may even have beaten him. Mr. Kilmers ".elding was a tough customer to contend against everywhere. He journeyed everywhere and won under high weight and in all sorts of going. There isnt and hasnt been a stancher character in all American racing than the son of hfeGee and Fair Empre-s. lie is sound, and with fair wintering luck will tip over the heal ones in 1921. Another hardy horse of great general excellence, speed and courage divided the honors of the five-year-old la-- with Extermina tor. He was Boniface. Commander Ko-s handieappor. which won one more race than Exterminator and but ,000 or -o le— . Boniface was not placed adroitly. He went here and there to meet all comers and performed great racing deeds. Exterminator and Boniface were the out --tending leader- :nuong the hor-es of their age. After them came honest and high class The Patter, Ed ward B. McLeans tine racer. He wasnt himself in the most valuable part of the season, but when he was in condition The Iorter was formidable in any company. Bob Smiths Kngli-h gelding Irish Kiss was fourth in the list of winning five-year-olds and the only other to win over 0,000. His best values were gleaned in Canada. The thirty leaders in the five-year-old division ran 887 races for 90,325 during 1920.
