John Sanford had a most promising looking young horse in last autumns racing in the tincotithly named Snob II., of Franco-American lineage. His father is Prestige, pure French, and his mother the American daughter of Isidor and the Meddler mare Mai. bred at Hurricana. but sent to France in 1913. Snob II. is a big, handsome fellow, with racing legs well tinder him. He improved as he went along and won his last race, the Belmont Park Nursery, in September, in an emphatic way. a drive and fast time, beating June Grass, Sedge and William A. among others. It was an impressive two-year-old farewell. In the race before, a Saratoga purse, Snob II. and Bunting had a rare turn up together. He failed to catch the Whitney crack. Snob II. only won two races and ,000 or so in seven starts, hut lie left his reflection in racing eyes and will be a Derbyite to be considered and respected if clever Hollie Hughes sends him after such prizes.
