MARE CHATTERER DEAD LEXINGTON, Ky., April 16-Joseph R. Widener had bad luck this week, when bis young mare Chatterer, sister to Chatterton and Ktoile Filante, dam of Fair Star, by Fair Play — Chit Chat, died while foaling at Elmen-dorf Farm. G. D. Widener, however, had good luck when his splendid mare Startle foaled a bay colt by Sir Gallahad III. Mr. Widener bought Startle from George ollins and the estate of Frank Hudson last year and she shortly thereafter dropped a fine filly by Black Toney. The mating with Sir Gallahad III. had been arranged for by Mr. Collins and Mr. Widener accepted the booking with this happy result. Adolphe Pons .Meddlesome II.. by Meddler, has a bay colt by Stefan the Creat at Greenwich Stud and is to be mated with Friar Rock at Shoshone Stud. John J. Troxlers Flittersand, by Flitter-gold, brother to Fair Play, has a chestnut colt by Maintenant. . a
