SPRINGALD raced into a long lead after going the first eighth and held it gamely when challenged in the final eighth. niGII SEAS, close up from the start, made a challenge after entering the home stretch, but was outfinished. LANDSLIP ran a good race throughout. CANDELABRA began slowly and was always outrun. AIR FLIGHT was standing flat-footed when the start came and was as good as left. SPHERICITY raced MADAM POMPADOUR into defeat in the first half mile and took the lead, but tired badly in the final drive. MADAM rOMPADOUR, away well, was sent into the lead, but tired after going a half mile. SAGUENAY raced well throughout. ARRANT JADE was pulled up soon after the start. NETHERBY raced close up and had no mishaps. ROMAN SANDAL ran poorly. HIGHLAND DAISY showed early speed and tired. LANARK was always outrun. ANN B. pulled up lame. Overweight Roman Sandal, 3 pounds. The latter raced close up in the early running and finished gamely. THE VINTNER showed the most speed fcr seven-eighths and tired. TELURIDE lacked speed. UNIONVILLB quit.
