NORTH WOODS, after being close up and clear of interference, responded to hard riding in the stretch; passed LOAEKEN and won going away. LOAEKEN began fast and crossed over from the outside sharply, drew into a brief lead, but tired in the stretch drive. STRONG POLICY was close up from the start and made a game finish. LADY JULE ran a good race all the way, but tired in the final seventy yards. EBONY MAID ran fairly well all the way. NOON JOY was on the outside from the start. AVon easily; second and third driving. SAINT PANCRAS jumped well, showed the most speed on the flat and held HIGH COURT safe throughout. The latter raced in close pursuit of the winner all- the way and finished well. MANTONIAN closed up -some ground at the end. DOUBLE TIP moved up gamely on the final turn of the field, but thed. ST. AVon driving; second and third the same. PRINCE OF BOURBON, close up from the start and on the inside, was crowded back on the last turn, but saved ground when turning for home and outfinished WASHAKIE in the final drive. The latter improved his position steadily on the outside and took a brief lead at the eighth post, but tired in the final seventy yards. CARTOONIST, close up all the way, tired in the stretch drive. SEVENTH SON dwelt slightly at the start, but closed a big gap through the stretch. CANDY HOG was much used in forcing the early pace and tired. PRINCESS TINA was in close quarters to the elbow, where she was pinched back and forced to come on the outside, then raced into the lead when called on and won going away. NIXIE responded to bard riding on the ontsidc and gained steadily, but could not get to the winner. BATEAU showed the most speed from the start and, saving ground where possible, finished well. STEFALLY ran a good race and finished well. ONE HOUR had no mishaps. CATSPLAY raced below her best form. NITOUCHE ran welL Scratched 14148 Swizzlcstick, 112; 14729 nouse Girl, 107. Won easily; second and third driving. nEHODIAN was outrun to the stretch turn, then came fast and, standing a drive gamely, took the lead and held CRYSTAL PENNANT safe at the end. The latter lacked early speed, but improved his position on the outside and came with a rush in the stretch, but tired right at the end. CAPTAIN DICK saved ground when entering the stretch, then tired. GRAAITA was rushed into the lead after the start and showed early speed, but was in close quarters when the winner swerved over at the eighth post and was forced back.
