Y., May 10.— First of the important New York juvenile prizes will be decided at Jamaica, Saturday. This is the Youthful, a five furlongs dash, to which the Metropolitan Jockey Club adds ,500. Nominations closed Monday and there were thirty-nine named from twenty-one different interests. This list, in point of numbers, "is headed by the Greentree Stable and Mrs. John Hay Whitneys Llangollen Farm. Each racing establishment has five entered. In the Greentree lot are two winners at the meeting in Cherry Tart and. Chimney Top. Others are Black Buddy, a son of Bud Lerner and Siren; Blind Rafferty, a son of Royal Minstrel and Homely, as well as Nights End, a gelded son of Bunting and Soumangha. From the Llangollen Farm are Early Light, one that was seasoned at Havre de Grace, as well as Broadsword, a son of Light Brigade and Caledonia; Mr. Hyde, a colt, by John P. Grier — Rapine II.; Black Harmony, a son of Nocturnal and Oh Susanna and Bli.e for Boys, a brown daughter of John P. Grier and Azurita. Both C. V. Whitney and Alex Gordon have four in the eligible list and no other nominator has named more than two. Many of those in the list have already been shown under racing silks, while others have attracted attention in their trials. It is a list of the best ones that have been raced, thus far, and there is every prospect that the renewal will be a worthy one. Nominations for the Youthful Stakes, with ,500 added, for two-year-olds, to be run Saturday, May 13, closed with thirty-nine entries. Pinchot; Lincroft Farms: Forty Days; Llangollen: Early Light, Broadsword, Mr. Hyde, Black Harmony, Blue for Boys; J. H. Louchheim: Slipper King; H. C. Phipps: Cleves; Lester C.
