Kenney Reports Book Of Heliopolis Is Full FullCompletes Completes Full Booking for All Three Stallions at Coldstream ColdstreamLEXINGTON LEXINGTON Ky May 14 Charles A Kenney manager of the breeding depart ¬ ment at Coldstream Stud announced today that the book of Heliopolis for 1943 is now full We therefore are happy in that the books of all three of our horses are now full said Kenney Bull Dogs book filled early last year and Reaping Rewards book was filled soon after January 1 1Of Of the eight foals of Heliopolis at Cold stream Farm fillies predominate but Ken ¬ ney reports that in other places an incom ¬ plete report indicates that there are more colts than fillies so it appears that they will break about even evenHeliopolis Heliopolis a sevenyearold son of Hy ¬ perion and Drift by Swynford was im ¬ ported by E Dale Shaffer in July of 1940 After recovering from a rough trip from England Heliopolis was returned to train ¬ ing and made the trip to Miami with the Coldstream stable of Shaffer and Jack Howard He was nominated for the Wide ner Handicap but as he did not train satis ¬ factorily the son of Hyperion was returned to the farm and bred to several mares that spring springThis This is his second crop of foals and a bay son from Lull the daughter of Bull Dog and dam of Albatross is one of the finest looking foals to have arrived in Kentucky this year yearHeliopolis Heliopolis other foals at Coldstream farm are b f Coronium by Pot au Feu dark b c Evening Shadow by Bull Dog b f Nimble Hoof by Sweep b f Sweet Fern by Bostonian b f Tophorn by Bull Dog ch c Passerine by American Flag and b f Bourbon Reel by My Play PlayThe The Evening Shadow colt is a well made individual so from all indications Heliopolis appears to nick well with Bull Dog mares
