Kentucky Notes CHURCHILL DOWNS, Louisville, Ky., June 11. Twelve of Torrance C. Melroses horses left today for the Detroit Fair Grounds, where the season opens on Saturday. The others trainer Howard Hoffman has here will leave for the same point tomorrow. Former jockey Harry Garner, who left the turf in 1940 and has been employed I in war work the past several years, has re-; turned to Cincinnati. William Johnson shipped the horses owned by Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Winters to Detroit. Jockey R. Gonzalez, who has been riding in good form, is accompanying Theodore E. Muellers Shady Brook Farm stable to Chicago. The Mueller horses will be transferred to Washington Park. If stalls at Washington Park are not adequate to accommodate all of the horses for the Washington Park Jockey Club and Arlington Park Jockey Club combined meeting, horsemen will be permitted to use the barns and track at Lincoln Fields, it was announced by Thomas Young, superintendent of tracks for the American Turf Association. Arthur Roses Misweet, the only filly to take part in the Kentucky Derby, and other of the horses trained by Leo ODonnell, are leaving for Suffolk Downs, where they will, join a division of the stable which has been at the Boston track since last week.
