Lndy Ldris was cleverly saved during the long delay at the post, well ridden in the race, and saved a lot of ground on the stretch turn by skinning the rail. Lady Idris win was a very lucky one. EMrvd ran out at the head of tlie stretch carrying Peaches with her and leaving a lot of room for the winner to come through on the rail. Edith Q. also saved ground on the stretch turn . mi ran a good rice. Anna Chamberlain was interfered with at the start, and never got well into her stride until the stretch was reached, then she made up quite a bit of grand. Eldred ran far out in all of the breakaways and was much used at the post. Lady Idris, place, evens ; show, 1 to 2. Edith Q., place. 4 to 1 ; show, 2 to 1. Winner— B. m, by Racine — Aurelia II. Went to post at 3:10. Off at the first break to a good start. Won cleverly at the end after a hard, early drive : second and third were doing their best. Sly ran a grand race and was ridden to perfection. She is in her best form and established a new worlds record. Princess Thyra set a terrific pace, but could not quite last the route. Rose took her the shortest way around the track and got every ounce of speed the filly had out of her. Algareta is at her best, ran a good race and had no excuses. She has been badly placed so far this season. Mark Sea Rover in slower company. Tarhill ran a good race and Headwater a bad one. The latter did not show his usual amount of speed and can do better. Lady Dixon wheeled as the barrier went up and was practically left. Scratched-18026 Iillage, 114; 17045 L. T. Caton, 111 ; 186103Ailanto, 106. Overweights— Princess Thyra, 5 pounds. Viking fenced well and ran a good race. He was well ridden. Van Brunt was tiring and all out at the end. Globe II. came fast after Lord Chesterfield went wrong. Eggerson rode an easy race on Globe II. Lord Chesterfield was about a dozen lengths in front of his field and apparently running easily when he went wrong. The judges could see no reason why Lord Chesterfield should bolt and after the race ruled jockey J. Flynn off the turf and declared all bets olf. Chenier was short of early speed but finished stoutly. Frond lost part of her bridle before the race was half over and did well to complete the course. Scratched— 18555 Governor Budd, 141. Winner— B. f, by Bend Or— Venue. Went to post at 4 :50. At post 5 minutes. Start good. Won driving and staggering; second and third doing their best. Cora Goetz is a quick breaker, got off well in her stride and opened up a big gap early. She has the habit of running out and it took- Enos best efforts in this race to keep her from doing so. The filly was tiring badly at the end and barely lasted long enough to win. Likeness had no excuses, ran a good game race and wag fast catching Cora Goetz at the e finish. Kohnwreath is of the improving kind and made up ground throughout. Gibson Girl •1 made a strong bid at the head of the stretch but died away at the end. From a poor beginning J Silurian ran a good race. Icon had bad luck on the stretch turn just as he was getting ready to make his run. Cora Goetz, place, 8 to 1; show, 3 to 1. Ofl at the first break to a good tart. Won easily; it was a terrific drive for second place. Donation was the best and galloped over his opponents with ease when Bassinger called upon him. The gelding is a slow beginner, but likos a route and is a handy sort of selling plater. Ben Chance came with a rush through the stretch and got second place in the last stride. Julius Caesar was well handled and did his best. Papa Harry took the longest t route and was generally poorly handled. Cabrillo and Elsie Venner had it hammer and tongs in a the first part of the race and naturally when the pinch came, neither had any speed in reserve to ° finish with. Monongah ran fairly well and can win at once if the track should become muddy. Scratched— 18578 Leando, 103. Overweights— Hub Prather, 3 pounds ; Rosavannah, 3. Donation, place, 2 to 1; show, evens. Winner— B. g, by King Alfonso— Joppa. Went to post at 5 :20. Off at the first break. Start good. The first four were closely bunched and were driving to the limit. Admetus is a game gelding, and under an excellent ride ran the best race of his career. Caywood placed Admetus skilfully during the early part of the journey, and when the finish came rode a very powerful finish. Red Pirate may have been a trifle short. He ran a fine race though, but hung a trifle in the last twenty yard6. The Bobby was bumped into and sharply interfered with on the first turn, and this considered he ran as good a race as did the winner. Like Red Pirate, Toribio may have been short and he weakened somewhat at the end. Topmast ran a good race and is in winning form. Viucennes showed no sharp speed at all. Guess Me retired early. Jimp was sharply interfered with on the far turn. Admetus, place, 3 to 1 ; show, 3 to 2. Red Pirate, place, 3 to 1 : show, 3 to 2. The Bobby, show, 3 to 2. Topmast, place. 8 to 5; show, 4 to 5.
