NOTES OF THE TURF. William Fischer, Chicago.— If the bet was taken without an express understanding to the effect that it did not include Livadia the backer of The Sprite wins on Livadia. If it was specifically understood that Livadia was excluded from the operation of the bet and that it went on The Sprite alone, it is, of course, a draw. Messrs. Clay Brothers have sold to A. L. Aste, owner of Jack Point, the brown colt Surmise, 2, by Sir Dixon— Conjecture. Price said to be ,000. J. W. Colt has purchased of W. Y . Givens the chestnut horseThree Bars, 6, by Wagner— Vollie, for ,500, and he will be put to jumping.
