Baird ran a surprisingly good race and the result was never in doubt. Precursor was tiring in the last fifty yards and just lasted long enough to beat Ecome on the post for Bscond place. The latter, considering the weight he carried, ran a cracking good race, finished stoutly and would have been second in another stride. John Grigsby ran a dull race and was never a contender. Corrigan could never get up and ran as if short. The race should do him much good. Arian ran far below expectations.
