Pree-torius was away well in motion, possessed all the speed and was really never extended. Frank Jones lost ground on the stretch turn by swinging wild, but it cut no figure in the result, for he was simply not good enough today to beat the winner. Duela could never get up and weakened badly in tne stretch under punishment. Amentum was pulled up when the field broke. Preetorins, show, out. Frank Jones, show, 3 to 5. Duela, show, out. She can beat a better field than this. Evas Darling ran a good race and under punishment stuck to her work gamely and was easily best of the others. Fireside was never a real factor. Dr. Tarr will earn brackets before long. Hunting ran a poor race. Scratched-27719 BlosBom,107; 28025 Olekma, 102. Evas Darling, show, 6 to 5. Fireside, show, out. THIBD RACK 5 1-3 Furlongs. Winner B. g, by Portland Dryad. Went to post at 3:38. At post 2 minuteB. Start good. Won in a mild drive ; second easily. Parnassus had all the early speed and cleverly handled, withstood Little Scouts determined rush in the final furlong. The latter swung wide into the stretch, but did not lose enough ground by this to affect Mb chances. Bavensbury had no mishaps. He was Bimply not good enough at the weights. The last two were never factors. Parnassus, show, out. Little Bcont, show, out. Bavensbury, Bhow, 2 to 5. OQAPCQ FOURTH BACK 1 Mile and 70 Xaras. Purse 00. 3-year-olds and upward. Winner Ch. f, by Montana Regent Nettie Beatrice. Went to post at 4 :03. At poBt 1 minute. Start good. Won driving; second easily. Nettie Regent carried Tony Lepping off his feet in the first three-quarters, but the effort told on her in the final furlong. She stopped badly, and had Mathews been able to keep El Caney straight he would have beaten her. The latter was under restraint the first three-quarters, but when brought to a drive he swerved badly to the inside and back again to the outside rail. Princess OtilliQ ceased to be a contender after going a half mile and was eased up in the final sixteenth, Scratched 280242Conntess Clara, 90. No show betting on first three. Golden Scepter tiptoed his field and although driving hard had a little left at the finish. Man of Honor was always a keen contender and ran a cracking good race. He should improve from it. Joe Collins was hard riddon to keep up with his field in the early stages and in the stretch he was close enough to the leader to win had he been good enough. Reginald Hughes iB a joke. No show betting on first three.
