WORTH BACING PROGRAM. Bobert A. Hiller, the new secretary of the Worth Jockey Club, has assumed his duties of office and outlined the policy of the club for the fall meeting of October 10 to 26 inclusive. Forty-two thousand dollars or more will be distributed among the winning owners during the fifteen days racing. The chief feature of the opening day will be the Autumn Handicap, with ,000 added. Three other races, with ,000 added by the club, will bs run during the meeting, while on Tuesdays purees of 00 and on Thursdays purses of 00 will be the main features of the card. Purses of 00, 00 and C0 will supplement these. The day after the track closed after its spring meeting a force of men was put to work by the Worth Jockey club. New and commodious barns have been built and no expense has been spared to make the Worth plant one of the most practical and complete conrees in the western country. Already Secretary Hiller has received applications from many of the best Btables now racing here for stabling room, and a few of the eastern stables are expected to stop over at Worth before going west or south. New Orleans will have a larger gathering of good horses thai has ever been known there before. It has been intimated that many of the best race horses now racing at Chicago will winter at Memphis and be raced in the spring at New Orleans prior to the opening of the spring meeting of the New Men. phis Jockey Club. All this tends to help tho Worth Jockey Clubs fall meeting, as it will keep the horses of good class here that might otherwise ship to San Francisco.
