Coreel was in all sorts of trouble to the last fifty yards, but ran a plucky and game race. H. S. Tobacco, suited by the going, did hia best. May Violet showed early speed and hung on gamely. With a good ride sho might have won. Tempse, a slow beginner, finished fast and will do at a longer distance. Governor John showed some early spaed. Winner B. c, by St. Leonards Glen Fairy. Went to poBt at 4:20. At post 1 minute. Start good. Won driving; second easily. Glen--wood, snited by the going and the weights, ran a capital race and stuck to his work gamely in the hard drive from the quarter home. Blink, a bit high in flesh, was scarce up to a bruising Tace, yet he was probably boat. The overweight hurt him and Howell gave him a jerky and -uneven ride taking him off his stride at the first quarter when he wanted to ran, again taking Jiim back at the half when he seemed to have Glenwood in hand. Blink came strongly at the finish, but the nature of his race had taken a lot out of him. South Breeze seems to have gone off. She ran an unreasonably dull race. Lea Bruno was a spectator. Scratched 281702Ethel Wheat, 102. Overweights Blink, 4 pounds. No show batting on first three. FIFTH RACE 5-8 Mile. Purse 00. 2-year-olds. Attelle reveled in the going and showed a lot of early speed, ran the fast Ogle and Wakita into exhaustion, came on with great resolution and finished going away. Wakita ran an excellent race under the weight, tihe was cut off when making a bid at the stretch turn, but would not be denied and came on the outside. Ogle showed the most early speed, but did not saem to relish the sloppy going. Wissendine, badly ridden, ran a very dull race, but came fast at the end. Scratched 28086 Harry Shaf er, 105. Nearest off in front and riddon hard and perfectly was put tj her very beat to win. Salinda ran a good race and Hall kept her right there to the stretch turn. Hero, Nearest stole a useful length and a half. At that Salinda was best when a sixteenth from home and was winning when Ball weakened in the drive. With a good finish she probably would have won. Hilee ran an extra good race. .He was coming strongly for the last three furlongs and might have won had not Salinda interfered with him on three occasions. Jake Weber, off badly, closed a lot of ground. Revoke was kicked while at the post, away badly, and given a weak ride. Tnlla Fonao was cat off after the start. Prima II and Tom Collins had no chance from where they got off. Overweights Hilee, 3 pounds; Revoke, 4. Nearest, show, out, Salinda, show, 4 to 1.
