Terra Firma set a fast pace in the first part of the race, then appeared to be beaten in the stretch when challenged by Rubus, but under a hard drive came again. Bubus appeared like an easy winner in the last sixteenth, but ONeil rode a weak finish. Taby Tosa was outrun in the early Btages, but at the end came with a rush. Colonial Girl ran a good race. Byrne of Roscrea showed his usual early speed, but quit when challenged. Sambo is stale and natures a rest. Terra Firma, Bhow, 6 to 5. Rubus. show, out. Taby Tosa, show, out. He avoided interference, saved mnch ground in the stretch and just lasted long enough. Albert F.. Dewey began slowly and was in close quarters through the stretch and was generally badly messed about. Wine Press outgamed Spry. The latter had bad racing luck and should have been closer up. Picador could not raise a respectable gallop. Crockets performance was in sharp contrast with her last race. Overweights Picador, 4 pounds. Patroclne, show. 8 to 5. Albert F. Dewey, show, out. No one of the three came close to his mark. Charles D. ran well for a half, then came stoutly at the finish when it was too late. Aurea was never a factor and Kuhn gave Marion Lynch a ride that would have beaten Volodyovsky. As a result Guide Rock waB best of those doing their best and Delsarte next. Hardly flashed for a while and then took a back seat, Grey Forge was short. The race was taken under advisement by the judges for a thorough investigation.
