ItwaB a great struggle for first honors between Badge Bell and Elbe in the last furlong, the former staying beBt and being best ridden at the end. Economic was coming strongly at the finish. Janowood closed a big gap. St. Wood was crowded out of the race on the backstretch and sulked and was eased up. Falella showed early speed. Lady Eztll threw her rider when going to the post, injuring his knee. She ran away three and three-quarter miles and was excused and money refunded. He was tiring at the finish and Lady Kent would have caught him in a few more strides. The latter ran a good race and finished fast. Myrtle Van was tiring badly and. nearly lost third place to Small Jack. The latter was coming strongly on the outside at the end. Scratched 28S72Onanetta, 1C3.
